Underground Injection Control ("UIC") Permitting

The driller is not supposed to inject fluids (other than drilling and fracing fluids necessary to drill the well) into a well without getting a permit from the State.  Here are the State's materials regarding the permitting of UIC wells.  Some of the later pages are more explanatory than the earlier pages.
